The Stark Youth Chess league located in Canton, Ohio is a nonprofit organization for all chess players kindergarten thru eighth grade. No membership fee required to join in the fun.
We offer year round opportunities to play open chess, test your abilities, improve your skills or just have fun at our local library and city park.
For local schools' chess players, we provide monthly league matches at participating k-8th grade schools starting in November and ending the last Saturday in February at Final Mate.
We also have Chess in the Park starting the first Wednesday in June and end the last Wednesday in August.
Enjoy a summer family picnic in June and Harvest for Hunger Chess Tournament the third Sunday in August. Both are family events held in Canton's Stadium Park.
In October, a "National Day of Chess" Tournament is held on the second Saturday at the Stark County District Library's main building in downtown Canton, Ohio.
